端午节是在中国农历的五月份，今年是（公历）６月22日，它是中国最古老的节日 之一，已经有两千多年的历史。The Duanwu or Dragon Boat Festival, is generally celebrated on the fifth month of the Chinese lunar calendar,falls on June 22th this year.It is one of the oldest festivals in China, with a history of more than 2,000 years.

这个节日是为了让我们纪念屈原，一位战国时期的爱国诗人。It is a festival that reminds us of Qu Yuan, an ancient patriotic poet of the Warring States Periods.

相传，屈原投汨罗江后，当地百姓闻讯马上划船捞救，一直行至洞庭湖，始终不见屈原的尸体。那时，恰逢雨天，湖面上的小舟一起汇集在岸边的亭子旁。 It is said that after Qu Yuan threw himself into the Miluo River, the local people immediately rowed boats to rescue him and went all the way to Dongting Lake. At that time, on rainy days, the boats on the lake gathered together near the pavilion on the bank.

当人们得知是为了打捞贤臣屈大夫时，再次冒雨出动，争相划进茫茫的洞庭湖。为了寄托哀思，人们荡舟江河之上，此后才逐渐发展成为龙舟竞赛。When people learned that it was to salvage Doctor Qu, a virtuous minister, they went out again in the rain and rushed to the vast Dongting Lake.

在中国，端午节的习俗之一是吃粽子，是用芦苇或者竹子做成不同形状和多种馅料（食品）。这是我最喜欢的节日。 On the Dragon Boat Festival in China, it is a custom to eat Zongzi, whick has different shapes and various fillings with reed or bamboo leaves.It is my favorite part of the festival.
